FVCbank Announces Appointment Of L. Burwell Gunn As Vice Chairman

April 4, 2008

FVCbank announces strong growth in both deposits and loans for the year ending 2008, the bank’s first full year of operation.

For Immediate Release — April 04, 2008

David W. Pijor, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, announced L. Burwell Gunn has joined the Bank as Vice Chairman. A thirty-five year professional commercial banker, Mr. Gunn was previously employed as Senior Vice President, Senior Lender and Not for Profit Division Head at Commerce Bank, Fairfax County, Virginia.

Prior to Commerce Bank, Mr. Gunn was head of Provident Bank’s efforts to expand its commercial banking presence into the Washington Metro market. Mr. Gunn founded Cardinal Financial Corporation located in Tysons Corner and he spent his first 25 years in various commercial lending capacities with Crestar Bank (now SunTrust) where he was the commercial head of the bank’s Greater Washington region from 1986 until late 1997. In addition, Mr. Gunn serves on a number of civic and charitable boards, including the Education Foundation of Northern Virginia Community College, is a Past Chairman of the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce and current President of Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Mr. Pijor stated, “We are delighted to have Mr. Gunn join our team. His knowledge of banking in the Northern Virginia market, extensive community involvement and focus on developing long term banking relationships will contribute to the Bank’s growth and success.”

Mr. Gunn stated, “This is an opportunity for me to associate with a nimble and customer focused financial institution, staffed by very successful, seasoned, local professional bankers that share the core values that I have embraced over my career. Being new also means that the bank can take advantage of today’s advanced technology offering sophisticated products and services on a competitive level with any bank. But best of all, as banking is still a person to person business, the FVCbank banking model provides the optimum platform to assure customers consistently receive the best personal service.”
